MOSCOW, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Two Russian women have died from H1N1 swine

The two women, aged 29 and 50, died in Chita in the far east of Russia,
close to the border with China and about 7,000 km (4,350 miles) east of
Moscow, the spokeswoman for Russia's chief sanitary official Gennady
Onishchenko confirmed.
"It's true that two people have died in
the past week. It's the first time we had deaths from A/H1N1,"
Onishchenko's spokeswoman said.
In the United States, more than
1,000 people have died from the virus and a national emergency was
declared on Oct 24 by President Barack Obama. (Reporting by Conor Sweeney)
